Booshies: Market Tips

Today we'd like to take a few minutes to give out some Booshies game market tips for fair pricing. Many users don't know how to price their goods properly and are either over pricing or under pricing so here are some ideas and tips for you when you go to list your items on the Booshies trading market on the HUD...

1. Search the market and NPCs for your item!
Pricing your goods competitively is a very good idea, not only to get yourself faster, more reliable sales but also to help out the economy as a whole. Take a moment to search for the item(s) you are about to list on the trade market and see what other users are selling for. Also be sure to check Menchy (and any other future NPCs) to see if they sell the same item and for how much. Pricing something higher than the NPCs is generally a really bad idea. If you want to make the sale, list your goods just under NPC price and around what your fellow players are pricing theirs at. Charging more for something you got for free, like Booshie droppings or seeds, than you should isn't going to help you or your fellow players.

2. Remember the exchange rate: L$1 = B10
If you have an uncommon, traited pet like a Girecko, in-world you might consider selling it for something like L$2,500 or more ideally.  On the market, this would be B25,000.  Don't let the big number scare you away! Price your pets properly on the market to avoid under-selling yourself and other players.

3. Pet Stats, Traits, Element, Skin and You
When it comes to pricing your pets, generally the more you can stack onto their description, the higher you will probably want to price your pets no matter where you choose to sell them; HUD trade market or in-world. That isn't to say a normal Booshie should just be thrown away for super cheap, either, because even a most common Booshie can produce rarer skin types.

When it comes to stats...
Both parents play a significant role in their offspring's stats. When the offspring is hatched, it has an equal chance to inherit either of its parents stats of each kind individually. From there, it can jump up as much as 5 points or fall as much as 5 points for each stat. Pairing higher stat parents together will keep your chances of a better offspring high.

When it comes to traits...
The chance of a pet being hatched/born with traits is greatly increased by having one or, even better, two parents with the same trait. A pet can randomly gain a trait when born by a small percent chance. Each contributing parent increases the chances of the stat passing on quite significantly, so having two parents with a stat will make it more likely than not that their offspring will have the trait, too. It is worth noting that having two 'traited' parents does not guarantee their offspring that trait, though.

When it comes to skin rarity and element...
Element and rarity are both relatively unaffected by parents, though it does contribute a small chance if the parents were uncommon/rare/special or elemental that their child will be hatched so, too. Element is done this way because of the great influence you can have over it by adding things into the nest to hatch your bouncing baby Booshie with, such as pearlessences. There will be many different tools you'll be able to use in the future as we continue to add to the game.   Skin rarity will remain unaffected, as this is generally purely chance and kind of like finding a rare card in a booster pack. But don't fret! You can still definitely just breed for skins if that's what you want to do. Just keep trying with new babies and make some scratch Booshbucks on  the side by releasing your more common pets for small goods or selling them on the market.

4. The Trade Market Fees & Re-listing
Keep in mind that if you mis-price your item and it's under 700B, there is no fee to cancel and relist! If your price is going to be over that threshold, take the time to do a couple searches and make sure you're pricing your items fairly and correctly the first time. We may in the future be switching the fees over to a % cut system that will ultimately lessen the charge on almost all transactions on the market but still provide us with fair listing practices. Should this become the case, we will let everyone know via notice before hand.

We hope these were helpful tips for you and everyone so we can all get on playing Booshies and creating a fair market that everyone can benefit from!
