Release Issues & How To Fix Them

We experienced a bit of a turbulent release due to a number of issues last night.  Unfortunately, it resulted in many customers left confused, without the proper goods in their pre-orders that they redeemed, etc. so here are some FAQs and issues that have popped up and how to go about resolving them.

 

How much do my pets eat?  What will it cost me to feed them?

This is a very subjective question and the answer is: that is up to you and the Booshies community!
We set out to create a game where you could grow your own crops and cook it to become food your pets could eat yourself.  For the first day or so following release, you will need to rely on the starter food that came with your pre-order, what Menchy has available (which will be expanded very soon!) or what other users put up on the trading house for you to purchase.  Every different crop or prepared food will fill your pets differently.  What you can definitely count on is that if a food has been prepared by a concoctionist, it will be much more filling and therefore long lasting, and you'll ultimately need LESS food items to feed your creatures.  So while we'd love to give you an exact price on what it would cost you to feed your critters, the fact is... there is no set price!  You could work to create your own food and sustain yourself if you wanted to!

HTTP Error 500

If you get this message when trying to redeem a pre-order, it is almost always because you have not created a Booshies account yet.  You MUST visit an in-world registration kiosk, click it and follow the link it gives you to register before redeeming your pre-orders will work.  Once you have an account, you can click any pre-order in-world and it will credit the contents to your Booshies inventory.  Please be careful as once your pre-order is clicked on and credited to an account, it is gone for good and you can not resell or trade it.

HTTP Error 400

If you are getting this message, you are probably trying to use an out of date HUD or game asset.  Please make sure you have the release version of everything, with absolutely no version number in it's name. Beta assets will NOT WORK.  Please delete them and upgrade to the release goods.

Where is my HUD/Home Portal/Etc?

When you click a registration kiosk, even if you've already signed up, it will give you a folder called "Booshies Game Items" that you will need to accept.  Inside it, you will find several items including the in-world HUD, a home portal and a sales pedestal that you can use to trade your Booshies in-world.  We are aware of some issues regarding the sales pedestal so it would be best if you refrained from using it at this time.  We will have updated pedestals for you to use very soon.

I do not have a pre-order but wish to play!
How do I start?  What can I buy as far as pets/food/etc. goes?

For the moment, Menchy is a bit short on goods for you to start with.  In his store, you'll soon be able to buy bundles from 2 - 8 eggs, as well as farming kits and food bundles in Booshbucks.  You can also purchase pets if any become available on the in-world trading HUD from other players.  Your best bet will be to wait until this evening but if you're die hard on getting started right now, you'll need a few booshbucks in hand and to make a trip to Menchy.

I did not receive the pre-orders I was supposed to.
Who do I contact? What do I do?

If you pre-ordered and did not receive what you should have received, either as an in-world item you can trade or as the credited items to your Booshies account, please e-mail us at [email protected] with the following information and we will get back to you just as soon as we can.  Please be patient as there are many of you experiencing issues with your pre-orders and only so many of us who can help.

My pre-order didn't come with the right amount of Booshbucks.

We wanted to thank our users for being so patient with us by tacking on a few hundred to thousand starter Booshbucks.  This was not included in the list of contents when you bought your pre-order and was entirely a bonus offer from us.  We've had massive issues with accounts getting the proper amount of Booshbucks and so we will not be adjusting anyone's booshbuck account from their pre-orders.  We appreciate your co-operation and understanding.

Why is Booshtopia currently limited to only the store?
When will we be able to explore and gather goods in the sim?

Booshtopia will be closed for gathering for a couple days while the sim remains open just so people can register and get their account started.  We will be opening Booshtopia back up to foraging either on Christmas Day (Dec. 25th) or the day after.  We also hope to obtain more sims soon to allow more people and more spawning of items to accommodate our players.

Where's my crafting kit?  Why didn't I get any recipes/blueprints/etc.?

Everyone received the same starter goods, including beginning crafting materials which should help you out in all professions.  It is limited for the moment what you can do with these goods but you're sure to find it a lot easier once we open the sim back up for foraging.  Recipes/Blueprints were mistakenly given out if you received any due to a glitch.  Both concoctions and synthesis should have a total of 3 recipes available to you from the start, two level 1 and another single level 2.  We will be adding not only recipes and blueprint to Menchy this evening but they will also become available via quests from NPCs soon enough as well as rewards.
